Giovanna Molinari-Casile
Scientific Botanical Paper Sculptor
Switzerland
Botanical paper sculptures in varying dimensions - from intimate studies to expansive, lifelike forms. Each sculpture arises from intensive botanical research and a precise dialogue with natural materials. My works are more than objects - they are archives of life. As visual tools of knowledge and memory, they preserve forms, structures, and the fragile diversity of the plant world.
We must take care of nature. It nourishes us and gives us life.
My works emerge from a dialogue with natural materials and preserve the morphological complexity of botanical forms. Japanese washi, Himalayan and Italian papers enable a precise,
vibrant reconstruction.
Nature is the basis of my artistic research..
The colors also come from nature
I use spices, tea, and natural pigments, whose chromatic variations and irregularities are an integral part of my work. In the interplay between scientific observation and artistic interpretation, the vibrant essence of the subject becomes visible. My philosophy is not separate from the work - it manifests itself in every single piece.
